About me

Alexandre Blanchet

Mentor Python | Upidev Author

I grew up in France in a coastal town. From a very young age, I was interested in computers. Initially, this interest was sparked by the games included with Windows 95 and later during my first internship where I built my first computer. I then pursued an engineering degree in electronics, which allowed me to write my first programs, culminating in a Master’s degree.

Early in my career, I specialized in the Python language. Python has been a constant in my professional life for over 10 years now. In 2018, I moved to London where I worked at companies of various sizes as a Python developer for five years. In parallel, I developed my activity as a Mentor, to which I now dedicate myself full-time.

I currently live in the south of Spain in the province of Cadiz, where I help my international students develop their Python skills remotely.

Nautilux
2016 – 2018
When I arrived at Nautilux, there were only three of us in the team: our boss, a frontend developer, and myself. This motivated me to upskill faster to offer as much help as possible with anything related to the backend, client migrations, and bug fixing. I also understood why automated tests were necessary to detect and prevent bugs in the client live instances. During those two years, I learnt more about the following technologies: Python, AngularJS, PostgreSQL, data migration, Talend, petl, Ansible, Linux and SSH tunneling.
